The tourism jewel of India is the Golden Triangle tour. Along the journey, you come across India’s wonderful history with its mighty Havelis, Marvel of Mahals, and colossal Forts. The stories that these walls hold speak aloud to travellers.

Sidrah is a Holistic Skincare Expert from Mumbai. With the desire to travel, she along with her family and a few friends decided to tour the culture-rich cities of India. In the perfectly chilly first week of December, they started their travel from Mumbai to Jaipur by flight.

The Pink City– Jaipur

After reaching Jaipur at around 1 pm, they straight away went to settle down at their hotel. The plan was to visit the well-lit forts at night, but Covid restrictions made a change in plans. There weren’t any night shows in the forts so they ended up exploring the nearby market and relaxed at the hotel for the day.

Day 2. Their tuk-tuk was ready to take on the most amazing sightseeing spots of Jaipur. Sidrah finds it to be a fun and pocket-friendly experience [Cost INR 1200 for 8 hrs]. They started at 10 am towards their first destination, Hawa Mahal. With the antique honeycomb Jharokhas (windows) that face the busy streets of Jaipur is the airy palace of Hawa Mahal. Here, they enjoyed breakfast from the Wind View cafe with a pleasant terrace view.

Amer Fort is a princely Mughal architecture that overlooks a serene lake. Their tour around the fort took almost two hours with an informative guide. Sidrah went for a traditional Rajasthani Thali nearby. A mouthwatering lunch with Dal Bati, Churma, and sweet delicacies. Set in the middle of Man Sagar lake, is the floating Jal Mahal. It is a Rajputana legacy that surrounds the majestic hills. Moreover, even from afar, Sidrah was mesmerized by its architectural beauty. Their next destination was Jantar Mantar and the City Palace.

Wah Taj!- Agra

The next morning, the group left for Agra by train and reached by 12 pm. Their stay was at Taj Villas. And soon they rushed to the wonder of India as they got to know that on Fridays Taj Mahal is closed. When in Agra, one can’t miss visiting the ivory-white tomb of the Taj. In the warmth of the sunset, they explored the marble chambers and stone carvings of India’s jewel.

Fatehpur Sikri is an 80km drive from Agra. Constructed in red stone, this district was built by Akbar as the grand capital for his empire. Sidrah had an amazing time discovering these historic sites.

Yeh Sheher Nahi Mehfil Hai!- Delhi

On Saturday morning they left for Delhi. The Golden Triangle tour had almost come to an end, but the enthusiasm to explore remained high. For their first day at Delhi, they landed in the heaven of shopaholics- Sarojini Nagar. And returned with souvenirs filled in bags and empty pockets. They unpacked at the Rockland Hotel in South Delhi.

It was Sidrah’s second visit to Delhi and yet so much more was left untraversed. From Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid to Nizamuddin Darga, she didn’t want to leave anything out from her bucket list for Delhi. As a metropolitan city, roaming around the busy streets of Delhi wasn’t an issue because of the metro line. Being a family of foodies, they had a blast at the aromatic streets of Chandi Chowk. Her must-haves were Shahi Tukda as well as Rabdi but she loved the Muglai food that was wildly popular in many of the shops.

Budget: INR 25,000 per person including travel
