How To Reach Rann Of Kutch?

Dhordo (the tent city) is approximately 86 km away from Bhuj airport. The city is also the nearest railhead. The state-run buses will drop you to your destination from anywhere in Gujarat making road travel seamless. However, if you plan to travel via air or rail, ensure that you land as close to Bhuj as possible to save time on travel.

Instead of seeking accommodation in a hotel or a B&B, stay in a tent. Fret not! These tents are as luxurious as a hotel room with all the amenities you need. The tent city is spread in an area of 5,00,000 sq. mt. with over 350 tents across 9 clusters, ensuring enough space and privacy one may need.

The Rann of Kutch is beauty at its best. The white sand desert is overlooked by a clear sky that cradles millions of shining stars. On a full moon night, you will witness the most mesmerizing sight of a million stars shining down on you, like diamonds on a black velvet sheet.

  • Book your accommodation at least a couple of months in advance.
  • The temperature remains extreme between day and night so you must carry both light and breezy clothes for the day and warm clothes for the night.
  • Ensure that you have your Government pass in place. The close border proximity demands such identification. You can get one at the Bhirandirya check post by showing your valid ID proof. 
  • Check the official website for details related to dates and bookings.
