Paperwork
To enter a state like Sikkim that is located near the borders of the country, you require some official paperwork to get through. ILP [ Inner Line Permit ] is an official travel document issued by the concerned state government.to get hold of this permit, find a Pahadi agent at Gangtok. And on the very next day, you’ll be allowed inward travel into the protected areas of Sikkim for a limited period. [INR 1300 for a 7-day permit ]
Additionally, when you enter the state borders via road, it is necessary to travel by a vehicle registered under your own name. Otherwise, acquire a notary if it belongs to someone else. And with the covid scenario, Sumit strictly believes that an RTP-CR should be mandatory while traveling.
East
Smoke and snow settle at the Silk route that gives a panoramic view of the rural allure. The mountain pass- Nathu La lies at a high altitude of 4,310 m above mean sea level, forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Silk road. In the east, we find the glacial lake- Tsomgo. These are a must on every tourist’s itinerary.
Nathang Valley is the place where you can witness the Escape Nature Camp. This gem of Ropel village offers tents or cottages with a silent river flowing nearby. Sumit recommends taking a hike that is arranged by the hotel itself.
North
The north has three main destinations that connect through a route. We begin with the small city of Mangan to Lachen and finally Lachung. Tso Lhamo Lake, located at an altitude of 5098 meters near Lachen, is one of the highest in the world. On the other hand, Lachung is popular for its hot springs and charming monasteries where the snow cap mountains merge into the clouds.
North Sikkim is also home to the great valley of Yunthan. A blanket of flowers in autumn and snow in winters, this sanctuary is one of the wonders you can’t miss. Have the best snow experience at Zero Point and don’t miss the chance to make your snow angel.
West
This is the metropolitan region of Sikkim. The urban areas are where you catch up with the social network on the internet with an abundance of Wi-Fi. For the brave hearts who aren’t afraid of heights, the Singshore bridge is a wild experience that claims to be one of the highest suspension bridges in Asia. Or travel to the forests and discover the Rabdentse Ruins to explore the heritage of Sikkim.
South
Char Dham (Siddheshwar Dham) in the South is a place that prospers with pilgrimage sites. The most visited temple has a 108 feet statue of Lord Shiva that overlooks the hills of Solophok. This place is flooded by devotees that come in the hope of washing their sins away. Encircling the main temple, are the replicas of four holy regions. As Jagannath in the East, West as Dwarika, South as Rameshwaram, and North as Badrinath Dham. Tourists visit these shrines for spiritual worldliness.

The Tales Of Gurudomar Lake
In the 8th century, a sacred lake was granted to the locals of Northern Sikkim by Guru Padmasambhava. It is believed that when people in the northern region didn’t have drinking water to survive they prayed to their God who placed one of his feet on the Great Himalayas where fresh water in the form of Gurudomar Lake appeared as a blessing. Moreover, even in extreme temperatures, the highest lake of India does not freeze completely. The Tibetian Buddhist’s belief in this legend never fails to surprise anyone.
It was overwhelming for Sumit to travel to the four corners of Sikkim. Soulful Sikkim showed him wonders that never knew existed.
