The Jehangir Art Gallery, which opened in 1952, contained the works of a number of well-known artists, including Jamini Roy and Arpita Singh. The Gallery also houses scriptures, photographs, and a variety of spectacular crafts in addition to paintings.

Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Thiruvananthapuram

The Sri Chitra Art Gallery, located in Kerala, first opened its doors to the public in 1935 and has since become one of the country’s most important art galleries. Several masterpieces by the great artist Raja Ravi Varma can be found in the art collection. Apart from that, there are Masterpieces of Indian Art by K Padmanabhan, V S Valiathan, and Govindan Achari on display as well.

National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi

India’s capital city houses the country’s most magnificent art gallery. The Government of India launched this art gallery in an effort to promote contemporary Indian art. This resulted in the establishment of the National Gallery of Modern Art. Since its start in 1954, the Gallery has amassed a collection of over a thousand paintings from international and Indian artists. Jamini Roy and Raja Ravi Varma are two of the most well-known artists in this gallery. 

Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata

The Academy of Fine Arts is one of India’s most well-known art galleries. The art gallery, which opened in 1933, has housed a number of well-known and captivating pieces of Art and Heritage of India here. Both Indian and foreign artists’ works are on display at the gallery. Among the notable artists whose works are on display are Rabindranath Tagore, Jamini Roy, M F Hussien, and Nandalal Bose. In addition, the most notable Masterpieces of Indian Art in this gallery are Rabindranath Tagore’s “A Winter’s Evening” and “Girl With A Pitcher.”

Government Museum, Chennai

The Government Museum and Art Gallery is a one-of-a-kind art gallery. Different areas of the art gallery are dedicated to different types of artwork. Such as paintings, sculptures, and architecture. Miniature paintings, portraits, and contemporary Indian art are all on display here. In fact, Masterpieces of Indian Art by Nandalal Bose, Rabindranath Tagore, and Raja Ravi Varma, among others can be found here.
