Triund

Set at the foot of Dhauladhar Ranges, Triund is a part of Dharamkot. Selected as one of the most preferred trekking destinations, it is also a favorite hill station for couples. Offering panoramic views of breathtaking Bhagsu village, Mcleodganj, Dharamsala valley, and distant views of Shivalik hills and plains of Kangra valley.

Bhanu Sarpal, based out of Punjab is an Engineer and loves impromptu travels every now and then. He set out on a 3-day trip to Mcloedganj. Let’s explore Triund with Bhanu!

Day 1

They were traveling by bus and finally reached Mcloedganj. Upon reaching they checked in to their rooms and got settled in. He came with 3 other friends of his. After a hearty breakfast, they rested for a while. Later in the evening, they had snacks and went to the nightclub to party.

Day 2

The next morning they started early and got ready for the trek. Triund Trek near Dharamshala is referred to as one of the easiest treks of the Himalayas. But don’t get fooled, the trail might be short but is definitely steep. The steepness however adds to the adventure and thrill of the climb. The trail is filled with rhododendron and oak trees and you can also see some beautiful birds. Being a popular trek, it is more often than not, filled with huge crowds, so it is advisable to do this trek on weekends.

Bhanu recommends carrying a light bag and wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. The golden gleaming sunset is the main star of the show, so it is advised to start early and reach the top by sunset. He and his friends stayed at the top for the night, which is what most of the trekkers do. It is a must-do, to camp under the sheet of stars, among the cool breeze, and beside the bonfire. It is definitely one memory that you will cherish lifelong.

Day 3

The next day upon their return they went to visit Bhagsu Waterfalls. A single stream waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery is a very picturesque spot to be. Enjoying their time there, they went to Racku’s in Dharamshala for snacks. This was the last day of their wonderful on-the-spot trip. They packed some wonderful memories and rode their bikes back home.
