Planning your next trip to enjoy the beauty of the Indian landscape? If you haven’t been to Lahaul yet, don’t think twice, and take a trip down the beautiful valleys. Experience it all – the serenity in the mountains and hot water springs, the thrill in trekking, and the fun in adventure sports.
Our next traveller, Deepak Dumre from Delhi, is a traveller by heart and a manager at BVG company by profession. He loves travelling so much that he’s on a trip almost every month.
In the winters, he went on a trip to the wonderlands of Kheerganga, Manali, and Lahaul with his college friends. Every place they have visited was so beautiful, Deepak can vouch for it in a heartbeat.
The Hidden Paradise above the Kheerganga Trek
Deepak and his friends hit the road by car and started their trip from a one-day stay in Kasol. Then they started their 8-9 hours long trek from Barshaini to Kheerganga. It’s so beautiful that you feel like you are going on a trip to the lands of paradise.
The trek is a little tricky as there are blind spots where you can slip, so Deepak recommends you have a guide. Deepak and his group also had one, although he is an experienced trekker. Even a little risky, the beautiful sight of snow-covered mountains and valleys reaching the sky makes it all worth it. When you are trekking, you will see Parvati valley in between, the blanket of snowmaking it more beautiful, and watching it is just serene.
Deepak and his friends further went 1-2 kilometers higher to enjoy one of the paradise lands on the earth. A dip into the hot water springs is just what you need to feel afresh and at peace. After their two days’ stay in Kheerganga, they travelled to enjoy the tourist spots in Manali.
The Fun is in Manali
Surrounded amidst the high peaks and the forest and flowing through the rocks, the Sajla waterfall is a place to be at. It forms foam at the bottom, but the rest of the lake is clear, where you can enjoy a dip in the lap of nature.
Their next stop was the Hadimba temple; it has a unique architectural style. Devoted to Goddess Hadimba, the temple holds great significance to the locals in Manali. You should visit the Hadimba temple to see the traditional carvings and how its structure is different from other temples. Another surprising fact is the temple does not have a sculpture placed inside.
The perfect place to hang out in Manali is the famous Mall road. You can book a stay, enjoy the excellent food, and shop from the local markets. It’s the best place for a day out in the streets and to keep you busy.
If you are visiting Manali, you must take a trip to the Solang valley, which is 15km away. The splendid views of the snowy mountains and clear sky will blow your mind, especially in winters when the whole landscape is covered in a white blanket.
If you love skiing or want to try it at least once in life, visit Solang Valley. Other adventure sports that you can try and have fun in Solang Valley are zorbing, paragliding, quad biking, and snowmobiling. Deepak and his friends wanted to go snowboarding, but that option wasn’t available when they visited. So plan the right time and ensure that all will be open during your trip.
The Heavenly Lahaul Valley
Deepak and his troops travelled through the Atal Tunnel and visited the Lahaul valley. The tunnel is closed after 2 pm in winter, so if you wish to visit Lahaul, get moving early in the morning as you will find traffic by the late morning hours.
If you want to see one of the most beautiful landscapes, head to Lahaul valley. The peaks and valleys of mountains, the snow, the glaciers, everything are so beautiful.
Kheerganga, Manali, Lahaul are so picture-worthy, if you don’t get some amazing shots clicked, you will regret it. So carry a good phone camera or probably a DSLR to capture the scenic beauty of nature and your memories.
