Not just does it allow you to tour renowned dreamy spots but also helps you taste savories that words fail to describe. Roshogullas, Macher Jhol, Shukto, Puchka, and more are some of the tastiest delicacies that the state delights its tourists with. 

The world has always been beautiful. It’s just that we forgot to backpack and run as wanderers in its never-ending wonderland.

Out of various major celebrated spots that Bengal nurtures, we will be today unveiling the incredibly surreal beauty of Kolakham which is a tiny magical village in Kolbang forest through the experiences of the power travel couple Aditi & Nirban, an IT professional & a Public employee by profession. 

The duo has taken several adventurous and memorable trips around the country and with the growing time has surely helped their audiences connect with mother nature through their stories & experiences. 

Kolakham was one of the recent trips that left them amazed with the unexplored and enchanting spread, wrapped perfectly in the best colours of mother nature. The trip was a 5-day trip that began from Jalpaiguri. 

Day 01 – Walking the magical Kolakham

Aditi & Nirban reached Kolakham and halted at one of the stays that were priorly booked by them. They both were amazed to witness the magnificent giant spread of mother nature around their stay. Not to mention, it’s perfect location; there were valleys, there were trees and everything that allowed one to experience utmost peace. On reaching they together explored nearby areas that left every individual out there stunned in amazement. 

Day 02 – Changey falls; always a treat

Day 02 began with marking a small trek to the Changey Falls that nearly takes around 45 minutes from Aditi’s resting spot. It was a nice experience, says Aditi. They then took some photographs, enjoyed the view, and had the best of their day. 

There was also a National park nearby that was named Neora Valley National park. The couple took the opportunity and visited the spot to make the best out of it. After clicking some photographs they returned and rested a while to fuel up energy for the next day. They enjoyed a bonfire, slurped on a delicious barbeque, and waved goodnight to the dark sky.

Day 03 – Burmaik at its best

Day 03 had a lot of touring for the couple. They left Kolakham to reach Burmaik which is about a 3 to 4 hours drive. During the journey, they stopped by some famous spots like Lava and similar other nearby forests. Upon reaching they had lunch and then went on to stroll the village and witness its unique spread. 

Not to mention, the night was spent eating momos and sipping their favourite wine. 

Day 04 – Forests, mountains, gardens, and a lot in between

After living their best time here, it was finally time to bid goodbye to Burmaik. Next, they visited Jalsa Bungalow and Mangchu forest which was further continued paying a visit to Gorubathan, which is popularly known for wide forests, tea gardens, mountains, beautiful landscapes, and more. 

After visiting these scenically rich spots the couple headed back to the station taking back millions of memories wrapped in the best of the emotions. 

According to Aditi & Nirban, North Bengal is extremely safe and sound for solo or female travellers to visit and explore. ‘The people here are quite generous and helpful’, says Aditi. Her entire stay during the trip was pre-booked. She advises getting it booked in advance to avoid any last-minute hustles.

Aditi shares extremely wise words regarding the food, overall environment, and more. However, for travel purposes, you can rent a car, use a shared taxi or rely on cabs based on your convenience.
