The Maldives is one hot tourist spot that has managed to win the top mentions in every traveller’s list. Well, we don’t blame it; it definitely is worth the hype. From housing incredibly surreal islands to allowing travellers to witness breathtaking water adventures, it perfectly hits the notch; being the best place to rejuvenate and celebrate life.
“I had a dream, where I ran by the sea, explored magnificent underwater beauties, and lived my best adventures; and guess what? The next morning I woke up to the surreal, shimmery, and magical MALDIVES.”
Anwesha, a Social Media Marketer from Bangalore took a solo trip to the Maldives and got back ample stories for you to hear and enjoy. So when you backpack to the Maldives the next time you can count on her stories to make yours a perfect one.
Anwesha during the lockdown, when the work from home came into enforcement, saw it as an opportunity to calm the wanderer within herself and hence planned a trip to her favorite destination. She never took leave while on the go and made every new place her office.
Maldives – Striking off from the bucket list!
She had her prior bookings made. While scrolling down booking.com Fulidhoo Island caught her eye. She was determined to not go around the Island resort and thus, decided to stick around Fulidhoo Island, which is well known for traditional Maldivian activities.
The island is a very small space with a population of a mere 400 to 500. It has the best scuba diving institution to count on. When talking about its spread it nearly has 4 supermarkets, 3 tiny restaurants, and 6-7 guest houses.
Anwesha reached the Maldives on Friday and was ready to head to her destination. But since Friday is the prayer day in the Maldives the local ferries and speed boats were not operational. This caused a little discomfort to her which resulted in her paying more than usual for the ferry instead of the usual price. Thus, she advises not to land in the Maldives on Fridays.
Day 01 – Exotic and Dreamy
She somehow managed to reach by the evening around 3 or 4. Here at Fulidhoo, you have one special beach where you can wear your bikinis and enjoy the sunset. The other beaches are slightly prohibited from such wear.
So, Anwesha headed to this beach and got bikinis on, enjoying the miraculous existence of nature and its phenomenal beauty. After having her best time at the beach she then headed back to the guest house and fueled herself to be able to explore the next day.
Day 02 – Beaches, Restaurants, Supermarkets & more
After having a bang start on day 1, Anwesha was even more delighted to know what the second day holds. She started by strolling around island beaches, exploring vivid restaurants, exotic supermarkets, and mosques.
Day 03 – Scuba Diving
Day 03 was the most exciting day of the trip for her. She witnessed the most adventurous and exotic water activity, DIVING. The experience was utterly breathtaking, says Anwesha.
Day 04 – A Little ME time
This day was more about exploring the Maldives, meeting new people, and spending some quiet time at the beach, feeling full of love, life, and peace.
Day 05 – Best of the days
The 5th day was filled with full of surprises. Due to the tropical storm, the boats were delayed and left all the travellers with the fear of missing their flights. However the situation was later calmed and things were brought to control, as per the plan.
Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, and enjoying the evening by seeing turtles, and tiger sharks swimming on the shore were some of the most exciting experiences she had. After living her best time here, it was now time to head back home and plan a new journey. Exciting, happy, and a little sad, Anwesha finally bid goodbye to the Maldives.
According to her, the place is extremely safe for females and solo travellers. The locals are helpful, kind, and hospitable. So, when do you plan to backpack to the Maldives?
