A popular destination for Trekking, the small hamlet is also famous for the temples around.

Well, all the trekking is worth it when you look at the beautiful views the region has to offer. The Himalayan Ranges with a dense white sheet of snow covering them certainly are a cherry on top of the cake. From here you can take in the views of Nanda Devi and Trishul, and Chaukhamba Mountain ranges.
- The Chopta- Tungnath- Chandrashila Trek is one of the best trekking experiences across India. Trekkers and take on activities like :
- Bird Watching.

- Snow skiing and trekking.
- Rock craft, climbing and Rappelling.
- Photography of the stunning wildlife of the region.
Trekking At Chopta and the Best time to visit:
Trekking the Chopta- Tungnath- Chandrashila pass can take about 3-5 days with proper rest, camping and exploring the terrains around. The best time to take on this trek is early morning because later in the day the clouds could cover the mountain ranges and the view might not be at its best.
The Trek has a certain route which is as follows:
- Kund in Uttarakhand is the starting point of the Trek and is located at a distance of 200km from Haridwar. Trekkers start from Kund and make it to Deoriyatal- the next stop, in about 3-5 hours of trekking.
- From Deoriyatal, trekkers then move on to the next stop at Chopta in about 4-5 hours of trekking.
- And then the final leg of the trek includes trekking from Chopta to Chandrashila peak at an elevation of 4000m. It takes about 4-5 hours to reach the Chandra Shila peak. Trekkers can also visit the Tungnath Temple at a 1 km distance from the peak.
Trekkers can trek their way down again using the same path or can even take a car if they will to.
Chopta has dense forests that have Pine Trees, Deodar Trees, and Rhododendrons in abundance which adds to the beauty of this breathtaking trekking experience.
