On the other hand, a solo trip is a whole different experience in Goa. Is going with the flow and not sticking to an ‘organized calendar’ to follow is what you aspire to? Then Abhishek is the ideal guide for a newbie traveling Goa.

Workation

Working remotely is a blessing that Abhishek has sought and he makes sure to take advantage of the essence this impeccable place offers. He took a 10-day solo trip to Goa, hustlin’ in the morning and exploring the city at night seems like a blessing!

Anjuna

For Abhishek, the authentic style to travel Goa is avoiding the mainstream. He stayed at the Funky Monkey hostel at Anjuna for a week and spent time in the local neighborhoods. His treasured time was at the sweet water lake- Arambol where he cherished the shade of coconut trees. The beach is nearby the hostel so he couldn’t resist taking long morning walks before diving into work. This is what a Workation is all about!

Calangute

The convenience of traveling in Calangute was renting a bike [Rs.250 per day] and arriving at a new place every day. Abhishek stayed at a guest house for a while. At the Ashweem beach, he gazed at the sunset drinking local booze. The cloudy weather in the month of October made it all the more adventurous.

For this trip, Abhishek managed to travel within a budget of INR 6000-7000. And as he traveled during the time when the covid scenario was prevalent he advises to take an RTP-CR test or carry their vaccination certificate at the least.

Look Out!

Scammer follows a tourist in a place like Goa the way youngsters follow influencers. Travelers come with an upbeat spirit and get easily influenced by these scams. The most obvious ones are the transport drivers, whether it’s a rickshaw, cab or a rental. They amplify the charges when they see a tourist. Abhishek has mastered the skill to bargain and get out of such hefty prices.

And when it comes to water sports, he recommends booking through the Tourist Department of Goa instead of phony sellers that offer no real experience at double the price.
