Sure that you have heard the popular term – Vegan! Millennials are particular with health, wellness along with their daily dietary habits. However, folks are often in a confusion state between vegan and vegetarian. Vegans and Vegetarians, both avoid any kind of food processed or made from animals including meat and poultry products.In particular, Vegans are just strict towards being a true vegan. Most vegans do not consume eggs, meat, and dairy products. This concept has gained importance after various Indian celebrities turned vegan. Masala Dosa

Wherever in India, dosa is one of the most popular vegan dishes in India. The batter is a mixture of soaked rice and lentils. You must always check if the restaurant uses ghee. If yes, you can request olive oil instead. The masala inside the dosa is a delectable combination of potatoes, onions and curry leaves. Along with sambar and chutney, which is completely vegan.

Pakora (Fritters)

Every nook and corner of the country knows pakora, just in different forms! It is one of the most happening vegetarian dishes found on most streets of India. Pakora can basically be prepared with potatoes, chillies, onions, or even cheese. These elements are coated with gram flour and deep-fried in oil. Pakora gained hearts even before veganism in India came into the limelight. 

Aloo Puri

Aloo Puri is one of the popular vegan breakfast options in North India. The palatable dish is a healthy fusion a delicacy of potatoes. The sabzi (cooked potato) with puri (Indian puffed flatbread) is a perfect combination. The cooked potato is fused with multiple Indian spices and the pungent flavour is the real charm of the dish!

Pulao

We cannot list Indian vegan dishes without the inclusion of Pulao. Pulao is authentic with a plethora of ingredients in it. It is generally a combination of with peas, carrots, cauliflower and much more. The dish receives its mouth-watering taste due to spices including turmeric, chili powder, cumin, asafoetida and garam masala (tastemaker).

Rajma 

The heart of Indians is purely dedicated to Rajma. “Rajma-chawal” is a popular term for this dish. It is one of the most palatable Indian vegan dishes. Rajma is soaks well before its cooking process. Later, a variety of spices. The smooth texture of the dish is worth trying! Poeple eat this fantastic Indian meal with plain rice. The delicacy can be eaten with tortilla, as well. 

Chhole Bhature

This dish has been significant even before veganism was popular in India. Chhole develops from chickpea called ‘Chhole’. Chickpeas soak in water for a while later they add a fusion of pungent spices to it. Some may even use garlic to intensify your taste buds! It is one of the fabulous Vegan recipes in India. It becomes extra special with crispy puris, onions, and lemons at the side. 

Dal Makhani

Indian Vegan dishes cannot be savory without trying Dal Makhani. Dal Makhani has the basic ingredients as lentils. The Indian version of dal makhani is not only vegan but finger-licking delicacy! It has a smooth yet creamy texture. It is gets the delicious falvors with black lentils and red kidney beans absolutely rich in proteins. 

Gajar Halwa

Thinking about deserts? You thought and we brought it to you! Gajar Halwa is a famous vegan food in India and has been popular before veganism in India. This dish can be vegan by using with cashew milk in it. Ingredients include shredded carrots, sugar and milk to savour one of the super special Indian vegan dishes.
