History Of The Vechaar Museum 

Vechaar Museum is a part of the Vishalla restaurant in Ahmedabad, which in itself is a serene place to visit. Not to mention, the restaurant was built in the year 1978, with the idea to keep the tradition and culture alive for generations ahead. The designer of Vishalla, Mr. Surendra Patel wanted to build a one-of-its-kind museum to display a precious collection of utensils. However, he shared this idea with Mr. Jyontindra Jain, a well-known anthropologist, who was instantly on board. With his help, Mr. Patel could complete the establishment of the Vechaar Museum on 27th April 1981.

Exciting Facts About Vechaar Museum

Vechaar is an acronym for Vishalla Environmental Centre for Heritage of Art, Architecture, and Research.

The museum houses a collection of nearly 4500 pieces of unique and ancient utensils. 800 of these are a variety of nutcrackers. Moreover, t stores utensils from thousand of years old to the modern-day, to show how craftsmanship has evolved with time.

Information You Need To Know Before Visiting Vechaar Museum

The museum remains open for visitors from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The Museum has a minimal entry fee of INR 30 for adults and INR 10 for children up to 11 years of age. If you wish to carry mobile phones or cameras, you need to pay an additional INR 100. Those who wish to film the museum must pay INR 500 additional. Note that the charges and timings may change, therefore, it is ideal to check their website for updated timings just before visiting.
