Asim Mateen, a stock market professional and a passionate photographer, took an exciting trip from Bhopal to Rajasthan with his friends to explore the lesser-known and underrated spots of the magnificent Rajasthan. While on his journey he had some absolutely appealing moments that he will forever cherish.

He’s an individual who has stayed in a number of hotels and resorts but this trip marked his very first stay around hostels. He absolutely loved this change and embraced it, sharing moments of love and laughter with new friends and unexpected experiences. 

Here we come Rajasthan! 

The trip began from Bhopal to Rajasthan by train. On reaching Rajasthan, Asim had a number of spots on the list to explore, and without wasting any time he was all up for it. The first decided spot to explore was glorious Udaipur. They stayed at Zostel & Gypsy Child hostel during their entire stay in Udaipur. They had prior bookings made for the accommodation in order to avoid last-minute hustles. Asim also took a rented two-wheeler to explore the city in a more detailed manner.

Blissful Udaipur

Now it was time that every corner of Udaipur was to be explored and Asim began it with the blissful Ambrai & Gangour ghat. Which was later followed by other art rich spots like City Palace, Monsoon Palace & Jagdish Temple. The fun just didn’t stop here. It was further made magical by some exciting boat rides, visiting blue heaven-like lakes, and a must-visit Jheel Cafe.

The ultimate beauty – Jodhpur

Now it was time to bid goodbye to Udaipur and march to another splendid spot, Jodhpur. Jodhpur, here we come! The stay at Jodhpur was booked at Moustache hostel using online means. On reaching here a number of spots were explored too. It began with Mehrangarh fort followed by Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal and one must visit spot in Jodhpur i.e. Sardar Market. It is one of the oldest markets in the city.

The team then headed to Rani Mahal cafe which had an excellent vintage vibe. Bahubali Hills in Jodhpur is another worth visiting site. After exploring these impeccable Jodhpur beauties it was time to head to Jaisalmer. 

Come to Jaisalmer

The journey to Jaisalmer was covered by a cab. Asim reached Jaisalmer around late evening and therefore stayed in desert camps that night. On having his dinner, he got to witness the traditional dance of the state which was an absolute delight. It was proof of the celebrative culture that India roofs.

Desert Safari, Jaisalmer fort and some extraordinary cafes were a few of many spots visited and witnessed in Jaisalmer. The cafes, Cafe the Kaku, Sunset point cafe and a special German Bakery allowed Asim to have a great burst and blend of a variety of food items. Star Gazing and photography were other few important activities practiced during the visit. 

Calm in the Chaos – Ajmer & Pushkar

After a decent stay at Jaisalmer, it was now time to continue the further journey. The next spot was Ajmer & Pushkar. It is widely popular for its vast extent and pious importance. Asim took a train from Jaisalmer to reach Ajmer. After reaching Ajmer he had his food and visited Ajmer Sharif Darga. Later he left for Pushkar by cab.

On reaching Pushkar he witnessed the enchanting spread of Temples and Ghats which seemed absolutely surreal. The best part of the visit was he got to witness the Pushkar Maha Aarti at one of many ghats around. Some major spots Asim covered throughout his journey to Ajmer & Pushkar were Brahma Temple, Pushkar Lake, Pushkar Bazaar, Doctor Cafe, Aloo Baba Temple, Laughing Buddha Cafe and Pink Floyd Cafe. 

Major bookings for the trip were made using online platforms like Make My Trip & World Hostel. Rajasthan is a great place for travellers to visit and explore. The locals here are extremely generous and helpful in every manner. If you’re planning a solo trip or you’re a female traveller, the place is going to be of great excitement and exposure, says Asim. So, don’t hold back the traveller in you. Let it explore the destinations it desires.
