This term is a popular road trip travel lingo. It refers to a passenger in a car who offers unsolicited comments and suggestions to the driver. 

Tourist Trap

This travel jargon refers to those attractions that encourage tourists to spend money on overpriced tickets, food, and souvenirs.

Non-stop Flight

Flights that directly fly to your destination with no stops in between are non-stop flights. These are priced higher compared to fights with stops due to their convenience and lesser flight time.

Jet Lag

This is a vintage travel term. It describes the sleep adjustment process that occurs following a long journey across multiple time zones.

Overbooked

Some airlines ‘overbook’ their flights! In simpler terms sell more tickets than the seats on the flight to save space for last minute cancellations. More often than not it leads to frustrated travellers though!

Open Jaw Ticket

An open jaw ticket is one that allows you to fly from one city to another. This is especially handy while exploring a new country. It allows you to get a flavour of every region of the country.

PNR

This travel acronym stands for ‘Passenger name record’. It is the official name of your reservation in a computer reservation system.

Holiday Packages

A holiday package is the travel jargon used for a vacation that includes all of the necessities in the price of the reservation. Apart from your stay, you can expect meals, drinks, activities, and entertainment to be included at no extra charge.

Staycation

A staycation is a luxury travel terms that refers to a short trip where an individual or family remains at home and engages in leisure activities that are within a day’s drive of their home and does not necessitate overnight accommodation.

Flexible Booking

With the onset of covid, many travel companies have begun offering an option where you can book your trip but have the freedom to move it if you’d like. This option is usually available with an added fee and terms and conditions.

This is one of the fun travel terms which refers to that one person who keeps on making and cancelling a trip tickets many times, to get the best deal possible!

Distress Fares

When flights during a period are vacant or prone to last-minute booking cancellations, airlines announce time-limited discounts directly to the public or, in rare cases, through agents.

Airport Transfer

Airport transfers are a pre-arranged mode of transportation for travellers from an airport to their final destination, which could be a hotel, cruise port, or another local attraction.
