Manali

Manali often referred to as the Valley of Gods, is situated at the northern end of the Kullu Valley. Filled with spellbinding views, fairy-tale-like fog, hidden cottages, bewitching streams, and the fresh aroma of deodar and willow, makes it an ideal getaway spot for couples and families looking for a small retreat.

Born and brought up in Kullu, Aashna is a student at Punjab University, Chandigarh. With a side love for travel, she never misses an opportunity to get on a trip whenever she gets time on her hand. She along with her cousins went to Manali on a road trip.

Upon reaching Kullu, she was very excited to go home and meet her family. While her friends stayed at Hotel Shishamaati. Offering scenic views of the outstanding valley and mountain tops, it is filled with modern amenities. Being tired from the road journey, they kept the day light and explored the nearby places.

Having rested for the day. They were ready to take on some adventure. Aashna with her friends went on a trek to Bijli Mahadev temple. Considered as one of the sacred temples of Himachal Pradesh, it is located at the top at an altitude of 2460 m and can be reached with a short hike of 3 km. The top offers a panoramic view of the Kullu and Parvati valleys.

It is to be noted that the temple remains closed during the months of harsh winter and is open from March to September for devotees to visit.

Next on the list was beautiful Manali. Hubspot is for trekkers, adventurers, and love birds; it has something for everyone. They checked in the hotel, and after freshening up and having breakfast went to visit Atal Tunnel. Not to mention, it is the longest highway single-tube tunnel in the world. Being one of the central tourist points, it is an ideal place to witness snow during winters and also links many roadways that were cut off otherwise. However, they did not forget to include thrill and adventure in their trip and went bungee jumping and river rafting

Next, they went to visit Sissu Helipad and waterfalls. Sissu is magnificent with dense vegetation and scenic views.

So this was Aashna’s short getaway to Manali!

She recommends trying out the local food along with cafes and restaurants and suggests that it is ideal and comfortable to hire a vehicle to commute rather than using public transport. Now, since she went during the ongoing global pandemic, she says it is necessary to always wear masks. Always carry your jackets because the weather can change quickly and it will!

She also says, if one is traveling solo, he/she shouldn’t face any problems since the localities are very kind and helpful.

So this was the eventful trip of Aashna. For more videos and photos check out her page @_click_a_word, and her youtube channel under the name: Aashna Prashar.
