History

Lake Fateh Sagar got the name after King Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur. It is an artificial lake in Udaipur. As Udaipur is rightly famous as the ‘lake city, it is the second-largest lake of Udaipur and was built in the year 1687. About 200 years later, the earthen bund of the lake broke, and then the Connaught dam was built in 1889, which gave proper support and shape to the present-day Fateh Sagar lake.

Location

Lake Fateh Sagar is north of Lake Pichhola, of Udaipur. This lake has a variety of flora and fauna. Also, the lake is at the north of Pichhola across Moti Magri hill surrounded by Aravalli hills on three sides and Pratap Memorial on the north side.
