Korigad & Morgiri

Exploring India, home to the incredibly fine preserver of varied tradition, culture, the world celebrated heritage sites, mesmerizing landscapes, and magnificent forts. Yes, Forts! Forts in India have played a very vital role since the very beginning. It is one of many sources that led to several glorious events that are respectfully inscribed in the world’s history. Especially the forts of Korigad and Morgiri.

You’re never too busy to take a trip to your favourite spot, are you?

On the subject of forts or trekking to your favourite forts, you dare not miss the very beautiful, the very enchanting, Maharashtra. The state is famous for its exceptional landscape and the city that never sleeps, ‘Aamchi Mumbai‘. The state is also home to a number of forts that are unique and have their own importance. So why not wander around them? 

That’s exactly what our dear traveller Uddesh; a 24-year travel enthusiast says and therefore by now has explored quite a few of them. Today, walk along to a beautiful trek to two major rock-solid forts that are impeccable and have an undeniable beauty. So let’s begin without any further ado!

Uddesh is a travel enthusiast who usually travels on weekends. This allows him to maintain a fine balance between work and tour. Moreover, he has taken several adventurous trips that have added to his vast knowledge and experience. Among many Korigad & Morgiri have mesmerized him the most. 

These are the celebrated forts of Maharashtra that are located in Pune, close to a popular hill station Lonavala. Uddesh set out to explore these fine beauties and registered an exciting experience.

He began from Pune on his Motorcycle for a nearly 2-day trip. He reached Morgiri fort in the evening afternoon and stayed there overnight. It takes nearly 2 hours to travel from Pune to Morgiri.

The trip progressed by indulging in a trek which was covered within 2 hours. Uddesh reached the top of the spot and was speechless at the sight of magnificent beauty and the sunset. After witnessing the enormous orangish spread, he and his longtime trekking friend (along with whom he has taken several trips) began to cook some food to eat. They then lost themselves to some good music and fine conversations, followed by some soothing sleep.

The next morning Uddesh along with his friend set out to explore Korigad which is at 5 to 10 minutes of distance from Morgiri. It took him about 1 hour or so to complete the trek to the fort. It wasn’t a tedious trek to complete according to Uddesh and therefore they could finish it quickly.

After successfully exploring both decided spots they set out to reach back home. Uddesh during this particular trip registered several wonderful experiences which he shares with us in order to help everyone reading this plan an effective and less tedious trip to Morgiri and Korigad. 

When you’re planning to wander these spots know that you will be required to walk a lot. However, when getting yourself prepped for treks ensure to carry essentials like a sleeping bag, tent, water, and more. Also, these astonishing spots of Maharashtra according to Uddesh are super safe and friendly for any solo or female traveller. So, get started with backpacking and planning your next trip, living experiences you always desire.
