Leh is undoubtedly one of those very exciting travel destinations that have stayed on every traveller’s list to explore. Pinch me if I’m wrong! These destinations are truly surreal not just for their landscape but also for the uniqueness they store. From exploring the highest motorable roads to being amused at the double hump camels, Leh, Ladakh is a true delight to travellers wanting to unveil the untapped beauty of nature.
“There are so many ways to reach the final destination, but I still feel my way of reaching the destination has more stories & values to add”.
Want to get into details of it? Come, will walk you through it! Our dear traveller Ravi took a trip to the beautiful Leh from Delhi via his bike along with his adventurous & lively friends. It was a 9 day trip with 8 beautiful friends. So let’s continue to scroll through and know the amazing ride he had through the globally celebrated Indian beauty, Leh.
Delhi – Manali
The trip began at the night around 10 or 11. Manali was the destination, they decided to make their halt at. Riding from Delhi they reached Manali the next evening around 6 or 7. Covering Delhi to Manali in one day is a tough journey to take. But our travellers did it and made it look seamless. Kudos to them!
Manali – Sarchu
After covering an unexpected distance between Delhi to Manali in a day, the traveller was set to now reach Sarchu. Sarchu falls at a distance of 210 km from Manali. The road to Darcha was quite fine but from Darcha to Sarchu was a deep struggle, says the traveller.
Sarchu is recommended for a quick stop when passing by but not a long one. As the weather condition doesn’t permit a long halt. One can find food & tents to count on when in Sarchu.
Sarchu – Pang
Day 03 began by leaving back the trails of Sarchu & finding new ones on the pathway to Leh. When travelling the roads of Sarchu to Leh, 21 Gata Loops is an astonishing meet. The finest views with breathtaking experiences are sure to win your heart.
The next stop to make was Pang. One can find small shops and some accommodating spots here. These accommodating spots charge around INR 400 to 500/- for the stay. The package involves food, mattresses, pillows & blankets. High mountains here are a sight to catch.
Pang – More Plains
After reaching Pang the journey continued to conquer More Plains, another spectacular beauty of Leh. On the way, the traveller passed through Tanglang La pass. He suggests not waiting for more than 10 minutes due to the unfavourable weather conditions. Also in terms of catching sights, there aren’t enough to explore other than a few temples.
More Plains – Leh
Reaching Leh was a victory in itself to the traveller. To make the most of it he set out to explore Nubra Valley. Nubra valley is popular for camping and serving delightful sights. It’s only here that you can encounter double hump camels. Diskit Monastery, the oldest and the largest Buddha Monastery in Nubra valley is worth exploring too. The accommodation here is usually high as the spot is a popular tourist destination.
Pangong Lake
After spending a soulful night at Nubra Valley the group along with the traveller set out to visit the ultimate enchantment of Leh, Pangong lake. It is said, the lake keeps changing the shades of its colours depending on the weather. So from clear blue to algae green, you’ll see the best of shades.
Changla pass is one high elevated popular pass in Leh that you will encounter during your road trip between Pangong to Leh. When travelling from Nubra to Karu connectivity of the network stays a major concern. The traveller had his food in Karu and then left back to Leh.
In Leh, they stayed at Yak Tail, a very popular 3-star hotel. After spending the night at the hotel, the next morning they headed back to Manali. The distance between Leh to Manali was covered within 1 day. After they reached Manali they rested a bit, ate a bit and then left for their ultimate destination, Delhi.
Wasn’t this a trip worth remembering? We can hear you screaming, OF COURSE, IT WAS! So when are you exploring roads to your favourite destination? SOON or SUPER SOON?
